Iconic star Malaika Arora Khan will be adding the star power, in person, i.e. real 3D, while one of India's most respected film makers is coming to lift the lid on the World's biggest film industry . Acclaimed Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh opens the festival with a special screening and Q&A session that will open your eyes to the diversity of Indian cinema. Up and coming filmmakers are represented in the mighty Western Union Short Film Competition - returning for a third year with its own unique mix of Indian, Aussie and Kiwi filmmakers competing for screenings at Hoyts and on SBS, Triangle and MTV.
This year for the first time we are proud to present ' Focus on the Subcontinent' with six gems from our neighbouring countries - films from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. An exciting array of features and documentaries including the 2012 Oscar winning Documentary - Saving Face.
With short films, documentaries, comedies, musicals and action spectaculars from all across India, The Indian Film Festival is your ticket to explore India and her cinema in all its forms. So stock up on popcorn, let out your belts a notch and get ready for some serious armchair traveling… to Bollywood & Beyond!
