Chitrangada
Bengali (with English subtitles)
Few other filmmakers better exemplify the strides made by Indian cinema than 10 times National Film Award winner Rituparno Ghosh. Famed for gently smashing down barriers, and perceptions, Ghosh opens the festival with his moving drama Chitrangada. A jewel in the crown of Indian cinema, Ghosh will also be taking questions from the audience. With a special appearance by Malaika Arora Khan, this is night to savour.
